God with Us: A Service of Hope

Thursday, December 12 | 6:00 p.m. | Sanctuary (11th & Boulder)

For some of us, the holiday season feels a little different. It might be that we are remembering someone we have lost, or perhaps we are grieving the loss or change of a relationship or life event. For any of those reasons, this time of year can simply feel harder for us than it might for others. If you need a quiet place to reflect, please join us as we look to Jesus, hold on to one another, and seek the Spirit as we walk together through this sacred season.

Christmas Eve Services

Tuesday, December 24

Chaotic Christmas Eve Service

4:30 p.m. | First Kids Auditorium (12th & Boulder)
Our Chaotic Christmas Eve Service is where families gather to celebrate the birth of Christ in a messy and chaotic way that only families can. This short service (35-45 minutes) is tailored to families with young children. It's loud. It's messy. It's completely wonderful and one of the best ways to welcome Jesus into your heart on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve Communion

5:00 p.m. | Sanctuary (11th & Boulder)
Celebrate Holy Communion with your family on Christmas Eve in the beauty of the First Methodist sanctuary. This short service will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. and last no longer than 30 minutes.

Traditional Christmas Eve Service

7:00 p.m. | Sanctuary (11th & Boulder)
Our evening service of carols, communion, and candles is our most traditional service. It features the great hymns of Christmas, holy communion, and the passing of the candlelight.

Still: An Acoustic Christmas Eve Service

11:00 p.m. | Sanctuary (11th & Boulder)
Our late-night service invites you to step into the stillness of Christmas Eve. Featuring songs of the season, holy communion, and the passing of the candlelight, this service ends with the chiming of the midnight hour as we welcome the Christ child.

Family Worship

Sunday, December 29 | 10:30 a.m. | Sanctuary

On the Sunday after Christmas we'll join together as one family to sing carols and hear a message. This single service will be a great way for the family to worship together!
*Childcare is offered for this service for age three and under ONLY.

Candlelight Epiphany Service

Sunday, January 5, 2025 | 5:00 p.m. | Sanctuary
Our annual Candlelight Epiphany Service is where pageantry and light celebrate the arrival of the Magi and the end of the Christmas season. This service, now in its 78th year at First Methodist, features wonderful songs by the Cathedral Choir, soaring songs by some of our best featured soloists, and the presentation of the light.
*Childcare is offered for this service for age four and under ONLY. Doors open for childcare at 4:30 p.m.
